The 1st International Conference on Special Education
On 28-31 July, 2015, Dr.Wanna Chongdarakul, Director of English language Institute attended the 1st International Conference on Special Education "Innovation to Enhance Learning Initiative and Practices."
The objectives of the conference were to explore new innovation from a range of areas in Special Education, showcase cutting edge research and innovative developments in Special Education, bring together seminar participants from different disciplines in Special Education and use the seminars to develop link between academics and stakeholders in Special Education.
The Office of the Basic Education Commission, Thailand Mistry of Educaion, together with Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), and SEAMEO Regional Center for Special Education (SEAMEO SEN), recognize an importance of education for special-needs students. In particular, the year 2015 remarks the beginning of the ASEAN community. As a result, this 1st international seminar has been initiated and jointly organized.

On 6-31 July 2015, English Language Institute, in collaboration with Chonburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, organized a workshop on Capacity-Building Progam for English supervisors instruction and English competency.
225 English supervisors from Primary and Secondary Educational Service Area Offices attended the workshop. The participants was divided into 4 batches; Batch 1 (during 6-10 July 2015), Batch 2 (13-17 July 2015), Batch 3 (during 20-24 July 2015) and batch 4 (during 27-31 July 2015).

On 19-21 August 2015, English Language Institute organized the forum and the commencement ceremony of "the Capacity-Building Programme on English as a Medium of Intruction for Master Secondary School Science Teachers in Thailand."
Ms.Watanaporn Ra-ngubtook (Ph.D), Senior Advisor on Educational Standard, Mr.Benedict Cheong, CEO Temasek Foundation Singapore, and Ms.Tay Sor Har, SEAMEO RELC, presided over the commencement ceremony of this programme.
The programme is aimed at capacity building on English as medium of instruction for 50 Science teachers in seconday school. They are attached to SEAMEO Regional Language Centre (RELC), Singapore where they undergo 6 weeks of trainer training as well as leadership and pedagogy instruction.

Deputy Minister of Education, presided over the opening ceremony of the "Development of English Language Teaching and Learning Based on CEFR: Linking Basic Education Level and Higher Education Level"
On 9th-10th September 2015, Doctor Teerakiat Jareonsettasin, Deputy Minister of Education, presided over the opening ceremony of the "Development of English Language Teaching and Learning Based on CEFR: Linking Basic Education Level and Higher Education Level", which was organized by English Language Institute, Office of the Basic Education Commission at Trang Hotel, Bangkok. The seminar aims to raise awareness of the importance of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) concept into development English language teaching and learning. There were 80 participants from universities, governmental organisations and stakeholders attending the seminar.
The Seminar discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) and Office of the Higher Education Commission in various areas, including improving students and English teachers' abilities as well as making the country more competitive in the ASEAN Community.
